what this is all about?
LOMOportfolio.com is about nostalgia. It is a collection of
pictures I took during late 1980s, early 1990s. These were
my student and first postgraduate years;
a period in my life when I constantly carried with me a little
camera - a LOMO-compact-automat - and shot pictures of virtually
anything that attracted my eye. "Around-photography" happenings
claimed the rest of my time back then.
Recently I was looking through two stacks of old prints, and
felt a sudden urge to dust those pictures off and bring
the images back to life. Especially considering that my newly
acquired film scanner would allow me to display pictures which
had not originally made it into prints and had never been seen
before.
To take this collection out of the virtual world, I decided to
organize an off-line show. So at this juncture, LOMOportfolio.com
can be seen as an extended catalog of the real life show. The show
was taking place in a pleasant little spot in Cupertino, CA, called
Coffee Society August 15, 2001 to September 14.
My first experience with LOMOwalls has been exposed at a one-day show, organized with
the support of Lomographic Society USA, on my birthday January 13, 2002 at home in San Jose.
February 14...28, 2002 there was an exhibition in Milan, Italy.
I've shared gallery with two more guys (one from Italy, another one was from Japan).
